Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the TrustHuman website and assessment service operated by TrustHuman Ltd ("TrustHuman", "we", "us", "our"). By using the service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The service
TrustHuman provides an independent AI compliance assessment service. We connect to an AI tool's API endpoint you supply, send synthetic test probes designed to evaluate behaviour against EU AI Act and ethical AI criteria, and generate a TrustHuman Score™ report with pillar scores, risk flags, and a certification tier (Bronze, Silver, or Gold).
A free assessment tier is available without charge. Paid tiers, where offered, are subject to the pricing displayed at point of purchase.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use the service. Where using the service on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind that business to these Terms.
- We reserve the right to suspend or block access for anyone who breaches these Terms or uses the service for abusive or fraudulent purposes.
3. Your account
- A free account is required to run a live assessment. You create an account using your email address, authenticated via Netlify Identity.
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Notify us immediately at hello@trusthuman.co.uk if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
- You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing us. Account deletion is permanent and irreversible.
4. How assessments work
- You provide an API endpoint URL and connection details for your AI tool. You confirm you have authority to submit that endpoint for testing.
- TrustHuman sends a set of randomised synthetic probe inputs to your AI tool and records its responses. No real user data or personal data of third parties is used in probes.
- An independent assessment engine evaluates responses against compliance criteria and generates a score. The probes are randomised on each run so scores reflect live AI behaviour rather than a cached result.
- Assessments typically complete within 60 seconds. Your TrustHuman Score report is displayed at the end of your session.
5. What the TrustHuman Score means — and what it does not
The TrustHuman Score™ is an independent technical assessment of how an AI tool behaved during a specific test run. It is provided for informational and compliance-readiness purposes only.
- A TrustHuman Score is not a legal opinion, regulatory certification, or guarantee of compliance with any law or regulation, including the EU AI Act.
- It does not constitute legal or professional advice. You should seek independent legal counsel regarding your specific regulatory obligations.
- Results reflect AI behaviour at the time of the assessment. AI models change; scores may not remain accurate as your AI tool is updated.
- TrustHuman certification tiers (Bronze, Silver, Gold) are awarded by TrustHuman based on our scoring methodology. They are not issued by any government body or regulatory authority.
6. Your responsibilities
- You must have the right to submit the AI endpoint you provide for assessment. Do not submit endpoints belonging to third parties without their explicit permission.
- You must not use the service to assess AI tools in a way that violates applicable law, the terms of service of the AI provider, or the rights of others.
- You must not attempt to reverse-engineer, circumvent, or interfere with the TrustHuman assessment engine or infrastructure.
- You must not misrepresent TrustHuman assessment results — for example, by claiming a higher certification tier than was awarded, or presenting an outdated result as current.
7. Intellectual property
TrustHuman Score™, TrustHuman certification tiers, and all content on this site are owned by or licensed to TrustHuman Ltd. You may share and reference your own assessment reports for legitimate business and compliance purposes. You may not reproduce, republish, or resell TrustHuman content or methodology without our written permission.
8. Payments
Where paid assessments or tiers are offered, prices are displayed at checkout in GBP inclusive of any applicable taxes. Payment is due in full before access to paid features is granted. Refund requests are considered on a case-by-case basis — contact hello@trusthuman.co.uk within 14 days of purchase if you believe a refund is warranted.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- TrustHuman's total liability to you in connection with these Terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.
- We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, special, or incidental losses, including loss of profit, loss of data, regulatory penalties, or reputational damage arising from your use of or reliance on our assessment results.
- Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other matter that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Availability and changes to the service
We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update or discontinue features with reasonable notice. We reserve the right to change these Terms; continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be notified by email where possible.
11. Partner programme
If you participate in TrustHuman's partner programme (Marketplace & Platform, Vendor Certification, or Referral), the specific terms of that arrangement will be set out in a separate partner agreement. These Terms apply in addition to, and do not override, any partner agreement.
12. Termination
We may suspend or remove your access to the service if you breach these Terms. Your right to use the service ends immediately on termination and we will handle your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. If you have questions about your data, contact hello@trusthuman.co.uk.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
